The SFDAV is pleased to offer the ASP for 2012, tutored by renowned South Australian artist Helen Kuster.
The course will cover all areas of design for Decorative Art. During the class you will learn the best style of design for a range of items, shapes and surfaces as everyone will be working on their own choice of wood piece. You will learn the difference between being inspired and copying.
The design class is your chance to create that special, unique project. Helen will help you with your design and assist you in your choice of colours and techniques to complete the work. This class has been created to get people designing for themselves with individual help and to learn what styles best suits your wood piece with information on traditional, ethnic and historical decoration.
You will need to provide your own piece of woodwork (either pine or craft wood) with more than one surface to design and paint. The main design surface should be no smaller than 15cm and no larger than 60cm.
The course consists of three full day sessions on the second Sunday of June, July and August and the total cost is $200.
