AUSTRALIANA

Immigrants to Australia brought with them their own traditional arts and crafts, and many of these have flourished in the new country.  Painting “Australiana” simply means to paint the local flora, fauna, scenery and other Australian subjects. Traditional methods such as stroke work may be used or a more modern decorative style.  Some popular subjects are; eucalyptus blossoms and leaves, wildflowers, native animals and birds, outback scenes and depictions of historical events.
