REVERSE GLASS PAINTING
Reverse Glass Painting was well known and practiced in the Orient and became popular in America in the 1800’s. This art form requires the artist to paint the design on one side of the glass while it will be viewed from the other. The drawing is first outlined with Indian ink and when the ink is dry the paint is applied. Whatever you don’t paint will show through the glass. Choose a background paper or paint one! Remember your final image will be reversed - backwards from how it was drawn. The non painted side will eventually be the one showing
