TROMPE L'OEIL

The word Trompe L ’Oeil (prounced "tromp loy") is French for "trick the eye" (illusionism).  The painting (usually on a wall, floor or ceiling) is created using techniques of perspective to resemble a three dimensional space. When viewed from the right position it should deceive the viewer into thinking it is real.
