CLASS REQUIREMENTS & PREPARATION - To be supplied by participants

White transfer -  Sand paper - Foam brush (optional) - Water basin Retarder (provided) - All your usual brushes including 2 stencil brushes - Something to blend on - Palette

DecoArt paints – Deep Forest Green (or a dark colour of choice), Moon Yellow

Jo Sonja paints – Warm White, Burnt Umber, Carbon Black, Brilliant Green, Napthol Crimson, Titanium White, Pine Green, Burnt Sienna, Vermillion,  Burgundy, Napthol Red Light, Moss Green, Yellow Oxide, Yellow Light, Yellow Green

PREPARATION
Cover the plate holder with sealer, especially raw edges and the timber section.  Sand until smooth and wipe off dust.

Give one coat all over of Deep Forest Green. I found that a 2” foam brush was useful for the inside. Sand and wipe again.  Recoat and dry thoroughly.

Trace the pattern and then transfer the outside edges of the pattern only to both sides of the holder. Cover inside the pattern area thoroughly with Warm White. This will need at least two coats. Use shape covering strokes where possible.

Replace the pattern and trace on inner details.

Note: Could members please send in their bookings or notify the coordinator of their intention to book into workshops prior to the general meeting, when surfaces and preparation notes are handed out.  This makes the ordering of painting surfaces and other materials far easier, as guesswork often leads to either a shortfall on the day or “out of pocket” expenses for the teacher.  If we don’t know your intentions, it becomes “first in, best dressed” and you may have to arrange collection later from the teacher or pay postage
