Welcome to SFDAV

The Society of Folk & Decorative Artists of Victoria is a group of folk and decorative artists who meet every month on the 4th Sunday excluding December and January.  We're happy and excited to report that with Covid restrictions easing, we are able to resume our meetings and workshops for 2021.

Our Mission is to create a sharing and caring Society where decorative painters of all levels, abilities and ages come together to share a mutual love of Folk and Decorative Art.

For the months of February, April, June, August, & October each year, a guest speaker or event will follow the general meeting.  For the opposite months of March, May, July, September & November, workshop/s are held by visiting or member tutors.

Pictured from left is guest speaker, Shirley Dougan, President of the Ferntree Gully Arts Society with SFDAV President Cheryl Clemmet. Shirley gave us an informative & entertaining talk at our general meeting yesterday 27 June, on the history of the FTG Arts Society which is 77 years old and going stronger than ever at the Hut Gallery, Underwood Road, Lower Ferntree Gully.

Because of increasing Covid cases in Victoria and the continuing lockdown we are unable to hold Heleen Van der Haar's workshop on 26th September.  Please see the workshop page where I have added the two Christmas workshops to be held on 28th November should we be able to have our Christmas breakup.  Here's hoping that we will be able to get together then and maybe beforehand on 24th October for our AGM (however, that is also looking unlikely).  In the meantime, please stay safe and work on some of those UFO's!!!
